Located in the small village of Barrika, this baserri (hamlet) called Garramune was built in 16th century and has given its name to the whole area. This building is considered a site of conservation and in the year 2000 it was reconstructed and rehabilitated.
Barrika is a quiet village, located in the coastal area known as "the sea of the Basque people", where you can enjoy beautiful ocean views and walks along the edge of the amazing cliffs which are of great geological interest and value. At the bottom of these cliffs there are 7 different beaches; you can get there from the Camp either walking or riding a bicycle.
Uribe Kosta community is one of the best places for recreation and holidays in the surroundings of Bilbao. In addition to the magnificent coast where you can do all different types of outdoor activities or just relax, you are also in the heart of downtown modern Bilbao in just a short 30 minute train ride, where some cultural visits are a must (Guggenheim Museum, Ocean Museum, Ethnological Museum and Museum of Fine Arts). Some other interesting excursions are: several different Aquariums, the historic Tree of Gernika (origin of the ancient Laws of the Basque People), and visits to many different entertainment places like restaurants, cinemas, shopping malls, or the traditional “fiestas” in the different neighbouring villages.
